Langham Corallian Classic Cuvee NV
Wonderful English Sparkling made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grown on a 34 hectare vineyard on Crawthorne Farm, north-east of Dorchester in beautiful rural Dorset. The vineyard sits on the same porous, ‘belemnitic’ chalk as found in Champagne’s Côte des Blancs.
Corallian is a Chardonnay-dominant blend, named after the coral-rich limestone rock strata 300m below the vineyard. It seeks to highlight a linear oceanic salinity and bright fruit character in Chardonnay grown on the chalk of this part of England.
"The NV Extra Brut Cuvée Corallian Classic, a blend of 70% Chardonnay, 21% Pinot Noir and 9% Pinot Meunier, is based 86% on the 2021 vintage and spent 17 months on lees. The nose bursts with green apple peel, freshly cut apple core, mossy freshness and a hint of oatmeal. The palate is vivid with fine, creamy, lively mousse and youthful verve that feels almost rustic. This full-fruited, individual wine will benefit from a little more bottle age. Drink 2025-2030." Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous.com
