2012 Gruner Veltliner Gottschelle, Stift Goettweig
Stift Goettweig is owned by the spectacular monastery that overlooks nearly all of the vineyards within the appellation. From vines aged between 50 and 70 years, this is a highly concentrated Gruner Veltliner with excellent aging potential.
"Enticing aromas of pineapple and apricot laced with acacia honey. Elegantly styled, with fine minerality and a firm spine of juicy muskmelon fruit. Luscious spice on the finish. There were only 3,000 bottles of this made from 70-year-vines. Age it? Yes, but it's also so drinkable in its youth." Joel Payne, Vinous.com, Dec 2013
