2022 Truffle Hound Barbera Nebbiolo, Unico Zelo

Delicious and easygoing blend of Barbera and Nebbiolo.  Silky smooth with smoky juicy red fruit, fine herbs and spice.  A great Pizza Wine.

"The husband and wife team of Brendan and Laura Carter are the minds behind this relatively new wine label that is based in the Adelaide Hills but draws its fruit from as far away as the Riverland and Clare Valley. Fiano and Nero d'Avola come from the Riverland, where the Carters say they can achieve economically viable crops from those varieties without much (if any) irrigation. The Piemontese varieties come from the Polish Hill River section of Clare Valley, the Nebbiolo from a vineyard originally planted by Penfolds in 1990. These are fun, engaging wines meant to be consumed in their youth, with the focus largely on fruit quality.
